Winsham Parish struggled with water and drainage problems while in the rest of the world  other things were happening:-

1907 Freud meets Jung in Vienna

1908 Asquith becomes Liberal Prime Minister

1908 William H. Taft becomes President of the USA

1909 Chancellor David Lloyd George introduces' Peoples Budget'
